The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering was established in the year 1967. It began with a focus on electrical power engineering and later expanded into power electronics and control engineering, telecommunications engineering, and computer engineering.
In the years 1982-1992, the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering joined a collaboration with the Federal Republic of Germany. This collaboration supported the development of personnel through further education in electrical engineering in Germany and observation of the teaching methods.
